College Weekend Recap - Wolverines, Spartans, Eagles battle on the road

MICHIGAN SPLITS BIG TEN ROAD DUALS

2/7 - The 11th ranked Michigan Wolverines scored another Top 10 win this weekend, edging #7 Nebraska on the road Friday night.  #20 Conor Youtsey scored a 2-0 win over #9 Tim Lambert at 125lbs in a rematch of the 2011 State Semifinals and #2 Adam Coon scored a major decision at 285lbs over Collin Jensen to push the final score to a 16-16 tie, with Michigan coming away as the winner on the 3rd tiebreaker - most match points scored.  Click here for a full recap from UM Sports Information.

2/9 - The Wolverines were not quite as fortunate on Sunday afternoon, falling to #3 Iowa in their Big Ten finale, 26-6.  Steve Dutton (141) and Adam Coon (285) each scored wins over Top 10 opponents.  #13 Dutton knocked off #9 Josh Dziewa 3-2 at 141lbs while Coon scored his 2nd win this year over #3 Bobby Telford at 285lbs, in the 2nd Tie Breaker period.  Click here for the full recap.

EAGLES GO 2-1; DROP CLOSE DUAL TO #9 MIZZOU

2/8 - Bonus points were the difference for the EMU Eagles on Saturday in Missouri, where they split 5 matches a piece with the 9th ranked  Tigers, but fell 18-15 with bonus points at 149 and 149 being the difference for Mizzou.  Among the winners for EMU was Vinnie Pizzuto who knocked off #20 Matt Manley at 133lbs decisively, 8-3  click here for the full recap.

2/9 - EMU bounced back after Mizzou with two commanding wins at SIU Edwardsville.  The Eagles downed Cambepllsville 41-3 before knocking off host SIU-E 24-13.  Jared Germaine and James Klosz each went 2-0 for EMU.  Click here for the full recap.

Spartans knock off Indiana in Big Ten Finale
2/7 - Michigan State dropped their Friday night dual in Massillon Perry High School 39-6 to Ohio State with #7 Mike McClure serving as the bright spot for the Green and White, pinning Nick Tavenello at 285lbs.  Click here for the full recap.

2/9 - The Spartans won 6 of 10 over the Indiana Hoosiers in their Big Ten finale on Sunday.  #7 Mike McClure fell to #4 Adam Chalfant in the featured match of the dual and #7 Taylor Walsh of Indiana scored a fall over Roger Wildmo at 157lbs, but MSU showed some grit coming back to win with 5 wins in the last 6 matches.  Click here for the full recap.
