Michigan brought two squads to the 16U National Duals in Utah. Greco takes place on days 1 and 2, followed by Freestyle on Friday and Saturday.
Michigan Blue went 1-2 on Day 1, taking 7th place on Pool C. Unsurprisingly, Brody Compau led the way going 2-0 with a quick pin and a quick tech. Michigan Blue was also impressive at 106lbs, as Dylan Nieuwenhuis and John McKay combined to go 3-0 on the day. Michigan Blue will now be in the Green Pool on Day 2, where they will see South Carolina, Louisiana, Arkansas, Nebraska, and Georgia.
Michigan Red went 0-3 in Pool A, seeing some of the top seeds in the tournament. Dakota Harmer was outstanding, going 3-0 on the day. Sawyer Stephenson also had a solid performance, going 2-0 for Michigan on Day 1. Michigan Red will now see Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, and Maryland in the Yellow Pool on Day 2.
