The Elite division of the 16th annual Grappler Fall Classic wrapped up yesterday, and champions were crowned in the boys and girls divisions. For the first time, the Grappler Fall Classic moved to the state of Ohio, where Cedar Point was the host of the 2-day tournament.

One of the big stories of the Boys Elite division was Lake Highland Prep. The Florida team captured 5 titles, including 4 straight at 144, 150, 157, and 165. Michigan had 3 champs after only having 2 champs each of the past two years. Grayson Van Valkenburg (Grandville), Mason Katschor (Dundee), and Logan Tollison (Grand Ledge) all picked up national championships in loaded weights. Tollison knocked off national ranked wrestlers in both the semis and finals, so we do expect him to re-enter the national rankings.

On the girl's side, Michigan dominated, picking up 6 champs. Four of our nationally ranked girls all picked up bonus points in the finals (Lillee Denson, Cheyenne Frank, and the Manuel sisters).

Cody Clarke of Georgia was the outstanding wrestler of the boys division, while Ava Strayer was the OW of the girls division.
