Michigan went 7-5 in duals last year, including 3-5 in the conference. The team was young, and they plugged in a handful of freshmen throughout the dual season. The team would get healthy for the postseason and put together a solid run. After taking 7th as a team in the B1G tournament, Michigan would have a decent NCAA tournament, ultimately taking 12th place. The Wolverines were led by Senior Jacob Cardenas, a transfer from Cornell, who would win the Big Ten tournament at 197lbs and take 3rd at NCAAs. Oklahoma transfer Josh Heindselman was the other All American for UofM, taking 6th at 285lbs.

The 2024-25 season was highlighted by 3 NCAA qualifiers for the Spartans, including Caleb Weiand (125lbs), Remy Cotton (197lbs), and Max Vanadia (285lbs). In duals, MSU went 4-10 overall and 0-8 in the B1G. The squad took 14th in the B1G tournament, and they sent the three previously mentioned wrestlers to the NCAA tournament. Fortunately for the Spartans, their lone wrestler (Weiand) with a win at the NCAA tournament is back in 2025-26.
